Rita Mariel Rodriguez Bellizia is a counselling intern with a strong academic background in psychology and neuroscience. She brings a warm, trauma-informed, and neurodivergent-affirming lens to her work with children, teens, and adults. Rita believes in meeting clients where they are, integrating emotion-focused, systemic, and narrative approaches to support each person's unique healing journey.

Rita holds a Master’s in Neuroscience from the University of Lethbridge and a Bachelor’s in Psychology from UNAM. She has completed graduate coursework in counselling psychology at Yorkville University and continues to expand her training through specialized courses in schema therapy, narrative therapy, end-of-life care, and neurodivergent-affirming practices.

Originally from Mexico and now based in Nanaimo, BC, Rita is bilingual (English/Spanish) and passionate about supporting neurodivergent individuals, immigrants, and those struggling with trauma, grief, and life transitions. Her clients often seek support when feeling overwhelmed, disconnected, or uncertain about the future.

Rita offers sessions at a reduced rate while completing her clinical practicum under supervision.
