MEET AMY VISSER

Amy is a Registered Psychologist and Certified Teacher with over a decade of experience supporting individuals, children, youth, and families. Her dual background in psychology and education enables her to take a holistic approach to mental health care.

Amy specializes in addressing anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, and relationship challenges. She integrates evidence-based therapies such as EMDR, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) to support lasting growth.

Her professional journey has taken her through public health, community organizations, and educational settings, where she has partnered with diverse teams and individuals to promote healing and development. During her tenure with British Columbia's Ministry of Children and Family Development and Alberta Health Services, Amy gained valuable experience supporting individuals and families facing complex challenges. These roles deepened her understanding of human resilience, refined her compassionate therapeutic style, and strengthened her ability to empower clients to achieve meaningful change.

Born and raised in Calgary, Alberta, Amy now calls Sidney, British Columbia, home. She finds balance and inspiration through running, exploring the outdoors, and spending time with her family, including her two young children who keep her active and motivated. Amy values authentic connections and finds joy in learning about the lives and experiences of the people she supports.
